Job description

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Data Strategy Manager in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

What will you be doing?
  • Provide qualitative assessment, data analysis, generation of actionable insights, and making recommendations for decision‑making in data governance and data quality control processes.
  • Develop and manage project plans and roadmaps that outline scope, objectives and delivery timelines.
  • Perform comprehensive data analysis to uncover trends, identify gaps, and highlight opportunities, delivering actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and business outcomes.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to design and maintain architecture frameworks, policies, and governance processes that align technology initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Manage project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
  • Manage and develop KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business functions, utilizing data and technology to support the identification of areas that require improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to apply best practices and innovative approaches, continuously improving solutions to meet evolving business demands.

Minimum Salary: $160,000.00 per year

Maximum Salary: $200,000.00 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

Accountabilities
  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

  • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and elevate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/ changes. Lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, in alignment with strategic as well as tactical priorities, while balancing short and long term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross‑functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In‑depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem‑solving processes.
  • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
