Job summary

DRW, a diversified trading firm with a Chicago base and global offices, seeks a Data Strategist to grow the Unified Platform Data Management team. You will identify data solutions for front office traders and researchers and link datasets to business needs while communicating with DRW’s global stakeholders.

You’ll drive data catalog curation, onboarding of new datasets, and collaboration with data engineers to track priorities and ensure secure access.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern financial markets and instruments.
• 5+ years working with front office traders and researchers to fulfill data needs.
• Experience with SQL and Python (pandas) for data analysis.
• Experience with cloud tools such as AWS S3 or Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Develop data requirements and provide recommendations to front office traders and researchers.
• Drive curation of the catalog of data sets for broad discoverability within the platform.
• Manage data onboarding lifecycle and integration of new datasets.
• Collaborate with data engineers and Contract Management to track progress with key user groups.
• Build relationships with front office users to promote data platform offerings.
• Apply data analysis to ensure new datasets deliver maximum business value and interoperability.
• Ensure access to datasets for trading strategy ideation and improve access management tools.

What You’ll Do:

• Developdatarequirements and provide recommendationsto front office traders and researchers, working closely withcollaboratorsincluding data analysts and engineers.
• Drive curations of our catalog of data sets to ensure broad discoverability within the platform.
• Drive evaluation and integration of new datasets, managing the data onboarding lifecycle for our platform.
• Collaborate with data engineers and Contract Management team to track and communicate progress and priorities with key user groups.
• Build relationships with front office users to promote data platform offerings and growth
• Employ data analysis skills to ensure new sets provide maximum business value and meet requirements for completeness, accessibility and interoperability.
• Drive curations of our catalog of data sets to ensure broad discoverability within the platform.
• Ensure all stakeholders have appropriate access to datasets to power their trading strategy ideation. Collaborate on continuous improvement of access management processes and tools.
• Engage with external vendors to keep DRW informed of new offerings and trends.

WhatYou’llNeed:

• Knowledge of modern financialmarketsandinstruments,research datasetsand platforms
• 5+ years working with front office stakeholders, including traders and researchers to fulfil their data needs
• Experience performing data analysis in SQL and Python using common libraries like pandas
• Experience using cloud-based tools like AWS S3 or Snowflake
• Strong organizational and relationship management skills

The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
