Location: Newport News, VA (On-site)

About the Role

Rockwoods is seeking a Data & Performance Analyst with banking or financial services experience to own analytics and reporting for our branch operations transformation. You'll build the metrics, dashboards, and reports that track network performance and project progress, giving executive leadership clear, data-driven insight into how our branches are performing.

This role requires hands-on banking/financial services domain knowledge not just general BI or analytics experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Metrics & Analytics: Define and document KPIs for branch operations in collaboration with operational and process improvement leads.
  • Dashboarding & Reporting: Build and maintain automated reports and visual dashboards tracking performance, efficiency, and customer/member service metrics.
  • Data Management: Extract, clean, and validate data across core banking systems, CRM, and operational tools to ensure high data integrity.
  • Impact & Pilot Analysis: Establish baseline metrics prior to workflow changes, evaluate post-implementation results, and conduct statistical analysis on pilot programs before wide rollout.
  • Executive Insights: Analyze trend variations, identify root causes, and prepare executive-level performance summaries for senior leadership.
  • Enablement & Governance: Partner with IT/Data Governance teams to resolve data quality gaps, document data definitions/methodologies, and build self-service reporting tools for local teams.
  • Adoption Tracking: Monitor long-term adoption metrics to ensure process improvements and training initiatives remain effective over time.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 2–3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence, including at least 1–2 years in banking, credit union, or financial services (branch operations exposure a plus).
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience working with core banking, CRM, and branch operational systems, with familiarity tracking branch performance, operational efficiency, and member service metrics.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel) and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex data and statistical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
