The City University of New York's Macaulay Honors College seeks a Distinguished Lecturer in Data and Society to lead data-informed teaching and co-curricular activities. The role focuses on data analysis, visualization, storytelling, AI impact, and civic relevance for a diverse student body.

The incumbent will design and teach a foundational data-driven course, build related experiential components, and advance honors curricula in partnership with faculty—effective Fall 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a record of achievement in teaching.
• Ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
• Experience teaching data skills, including data visualization and storytelling, at the honors or graduate level.

Responsabilités

• Teach 4-6 courses each academic year, depending upon research and activities.
• Develop and teach courses for honors students in data literacy, data storytelling, AI, data ethics, and social impact.
• Develop co-curricular engaged-learning experiences supporting the Data and Society initiative.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement data-skills and AI education across the curriculum.
• Cultivate relationships with external partners for career exploration and scholarly opportunities.
