Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle, WA is hosting Fall Software Development Engineer internship roles within the AWS Data Services organization. These 12-week internships start Aug/Sep 2026 and are based in-office, 40 hours per week.

Interns will own parts of projects from design through deployment under mentorship, solving real customer problems with scalable cloud-based services and GenAI tooling that impact millions of users.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related STEM field.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose language (Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript).
• Able to work 40 hours/week for 12 weeks.
• Expected conferral date between January 2027 and December 2029.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services.
• Design and develop scalable cloud-native solutions and microservices.
• Participate in code reviews and document technical work.
• Build and maintain distributed systems that are scalable and fault-tolerant.
• Leverage GenAI tools to enhance development productivity while staying current with emerging tech.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD and operational responsibilities.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring and troubleshooting production issues.
