Job summary

Ohio University Libraries seeks a Data Services Librarian in Research Services to support data discovery, use, and management for students and faculty. The role provides instruction, workshops, and individualized research support, while guiding data literacy and open practices campus-wide.

The successful candidate will collaborate with departments to scale data services, participate in scholarly communication, and contribute to governance and stewardship of data assets.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master’s degree accredited by the American Library Association or equivalent, plus 1+ year of professional experience.
• Experience delivering instruction or technical training is preferred.
• Experience in an academic or research library is preferred.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with researchers to develop compliant data management and sharing plans.
• Provide instruction, workshops, and research support for faculty, researchers, and students.
• Collaborate with campus partners on data management and reproducible research practices.
• Monitor trends in data services and evaluate new tools and methods.
• Participate in subject support and collection development.
• Serve on library or university committees to advance strategic goals.
