Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on Data Scientist to join our team for a long-term contract engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision, Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agentic AI workflows.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, experimenting with emerging AI technologies, and translating ideas into practical, production-oriented solutions. Technical capability is important, but personality, enthusiasm, communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the team are equally critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy AI and Machine Learning models for real-world business use cases.
- Build solutions involving Computer Vision, including image/video analysis, classification, detection, recognition, or related applications.
- Develop and experiment with Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) applications.
- Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using enterprise or domain-specific data.
- Build agentic AI workflows, including multi-step reasoning, tool integration, orchestration, and automated AI-driven processes.
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets to perform data exploration, feature engineering, modeling, and analysis.
- Evaluate model performance and improve accuracy, reliability, scalability, and overall solution quality.
- Develop prototypes and proofs of concept and help transition successful solutions toward production.
- Collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to understand problems and translate requirements into effective AI/ML solutions.
- Stay current with rapidly evolving AI/ML technologies and proactively identify opportunities to apply them.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.
- Proficiency with Python and commonly used data science/ML libraries and frameworks.
- Practical experience developing and evaluating machine learning models.
- Experience with Computer Vision technologies and frameworks.
- Hands-on exposure to LLMs and Generative AI applications.
- Experience designing or implementing RAG architectures, including embeddings, vector search/vector databases, retrieval, and prompt/context management.
- Understanding of AI agents and agentic workflows, including orchestration and tool/API integration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in Corpus Christi, TX.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience taking AI/ML solutions from prototype or proof of concept through production.
- Familiarity with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and services.
- Experience with MLOps, model deployment, APIs, containers, or production ML pipelines.
- Familiarity with modern LLM frameworks, vector databases, and AI orchestration technologies.
- Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
