Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to perform research-level data analytics at a customer site in Bethesda, MD. The role supports programs advancing ML, NLP, and data fusion for mission-focused analytics and publishes findings with actionable insights.

The candidate will work with a diverse team to design, build, and optimize a Data Science platform, analyze big data across security and cyber domains, and deliver results to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a quantitative/analytical field with 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree/equivalent.
• Experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative intelligence with progressive technical development.
• Proficiency in Python and scripting.
• Experience deploying data science apps with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.
• Experience with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch/Kibana) and SQL.
• Experience collaborating in hybrid teams of analysts, engineers, and developers.
• Past work in data science or research with large datasets beyond memory capacity.
• Strong problem solving and learning ability.
• Familiarity with version control (git) and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and researchers to design and optimize a Data Science platform.
• Analyze big data across security, cyber, BI, social media, and behavior datasets.
• Manage multiple projects and present findings to non-technical audiences.
• Identify new data sources to improve predictive algorithms and user adoption.
• Apply research design, exploratory analysis, and quantitative methods to actionable insights.
