Job summary

Continental Finance Company in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Data Scientist to join our growing fintech team. You will develop models, strategies and operational guidelines for our credit card products, and you will analyze, track and report risk metrics to support decision making.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in data science, statistics, or applied mathematics, expert knowledge of regression and ML methods (including XGBoost), and experience in Python, Tableau and SQL.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics or Applied Mathematics.
• Expert knowledge of regression techniques and ML methods (e.g., CART, Random Forests, XGBoost).
• Experience with Python for data modeling and SQL for data aggregation and analysis.
• Strong data visualization skills with Tableau and ability to communicate findings clearly to management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design best-in-class models and risk metrics for credit card products.
• Create market intelligence applications to support data-driven decision making.
• Collaborate with Risk Management to resolve issues and support documentation.
• Test and evaluate new statistical tools and packages.
