Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a data scientist to drive product analytics and growth initiatives for the TikTok main app. You will explore data sources, design core metrics, and translate complex insights into actionable recommendations for business improvement.

Responsibilities include building analytical models, monitoring metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes across the platform. Strong SQL and Python/R skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a science/engineering field or related discipline.
• Proficiency with SQL and one of Python or R; able to navigate large data sets using SQL.
• Ability to analyze data rigorously and communicate conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous learning, highly organized.

About the team

The Core Business Data Science at TikTok USDS is responsible for building high-quality and timely data analytics solutions for the TikTok main app to support business growth.

You will have the exciting opportunity to:

• Conduct product analytics to provide product recommendations that drive product growth
• Deep dive into data sources, understand their limitations, and communicate complex data insights through exploratory analysis and research to suggest improvement
• Design and monitor core metrics; understand root causes of metric movements
• Design and build advanced analytical solutions and models to deliver superior business outcomes

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or other science and engineering fields
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R
• Experience navigating and working with large data sets using SQL
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, learn autonomously, and highly organized
• Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences

Job Information

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136800 - $312867 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
