Job summary

DevTech Systems, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist on a contract basis to stand up data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and cloud-based architectures for reporting and analytics on the ADVISE 2.0 contract with the U.S. Department of State.

You will join a small, fast-moving FAO Data and AI team, building repeatable workflows, ensuring data quality, and applying light machine learning where appropriate in a hybrid Washington, DC environment. Applicants must be U.S. citizens for clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience building data models and pipelines
• Cloud experience with Azure and Databricks
• Knowledge of data quality and governance
• Ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Team player who can work independently

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
• Build and optimize data models, schemas, and cloud-based architectures
• Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring processes
• Use automation and AI tools to improve efficiency
• Analyze foreign assistance data on request
• Support predictive analytics and light ML workflows
• Maintain documentation, metadata, and governance aligned with DoS policies
• Communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences
• Take on adjacent responsibilities to meet project goals
• Continuously learn new data technologies for DoS clients
• Model behaviors to foster a non-hostile work environment
