Job summary

SOSi is seeking a Data Scientist to join our analytics team in Huntsville, AL, delivering automation for national security missions with petabyte-scale data on supercomputing resources. The role emphasizes AI/ML model development, Python programming, and collaboration with data engineers in a Linux/Windows environment.

You will work with open source and government software (Docker, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, PostgreSQL) and apply GitOps with GitLab/GitHub.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative field is required.
• 1–3 years of Data Scientist experience.
• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy data science solutions using Python or similar languages.
• Use Linux for development of data processing and model deployment.
• Collaborate with data engineers to improve data collection, quality, and access.
• Prioritize tasks efficiently and adapt solutions to meet project requirements.
• Document processes and outcomes for transparency and future reference.
• Write clean, tested code in Python and other languages.
