Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Data Scientist to develop and maintain data-driven solutions supporting the Claims and Returns organization. You will use SAS and Power Platform to build and enhance reports, data tables, and applications, troubleshoot existing solutions, and lead moderately complex projects.

The role requires on-site work in Morton, IL, with up to 5% travel and no relocation offered. Strong communication with senior management is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of programming concepts and ability to write/modify code.
• Knowledge of data management tools and ability to search/format data.
• Understanding and recording required business functionality.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for reporting and data solutions used by SPM and Legacy Claims and Returns teams.
• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance reports, data tables, apps and analytical solutions.
• Fulfill ad hoc reporting requests and publish solutions through Power BI or SAS.
• Lead moderately complex projects using project management, Six Sigma and Lean methods.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across regions.
• Communicate updates and analyses to senior management.
