Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a data science consultant to help DHS projects maximize data value through analytics, automation, and BI. You will work across data querying, wrangling, engineering, visualization, and dashboarding to deliver actionable intelligence.

You will collect and transform large datasets with Python, R, and SQL; build Power BI dashboards; identify patterns to support investigations and decision-making; and communicate results in briefs and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or data engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DHS Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Assess and recommend opportunities to incorporate advanced analysis and automation into current operations.
• Collect, clean, transform, and analyze large datasets using Python, R, and SQL.
• Design and develop data visualization and dashboard solutions to provide analytics insights using Power BI.

This high performing team works with clients to implement the full spectrum of data analytics and data science, from data querying and wrangling to data engineering, to data visualization, dashboarding, and business intelligence (BI), to predictive analytics. This individual will support mission goals within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). They will support all phases of analytic development, from the strategic assessment and identification of opportunities to incorporate advanced analysis and automation, through requirements gathering, data collection, performing analyses to delivery actionable intelligence and support law enforcement efforts. This role requires hands on technical expertise and strong communication skills.
