Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a data scientist to shape the BU’s operational strategy and lead data-driven initiatives across multiple sites in Southern California. The role emphasizes dashboards, data literacy, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include managing data visualization lifecycles, guiding stakeholders, and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and program management to ensure cost, schedule, and quality objectives are met through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with 5 years of relevant data mining experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years.
• Proficiency with SQL and Tableau (or comparable BI tools).
• Experience ingesting, processing, storing, analyzing, and visualizing data across multiple complex systems.
• Experience facilitating cross-functional projects across all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of data visualization tools and dashboards, data entry solutions, and other automated analytics capabilities.
• Structure and facilitate recurring performance review meetings focused on metrics for strategy and execution.
• Coach and train stakeholders on data literacy and data flows within ERP/MES/planning tools.
• Lead data quality and cleanup efforts to support new or enhanced business systems.
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executives and frontline leaders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
