Job summary

Red Cedar Consultancy in McLean, VA seeks a Data Scientist IV to advance AI/ML capabilities across sustainment operations. You will build predictive models, automate decision-support, and develop GenAI-enabled solutions with Azure and Databricks.

Responsibilities include real-time analytics, risk assessment, dashboards, and training modules, while collaborating with data SMEs and capability developers to ensure scalable, compliant deployments for Army data environments.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Data Science experience.
  • Experience with AI/ML forecasting, anomaly detection, NLP/Generative AI, and optimization.
  • Experience with Azure Machine Learning and/or Databricks.
  • Experience with Army Sustainment Data, including GCSS-Army, NLAC, and G4.
  • Active Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement AI/ML models to support predictive analytics, automation, and decision-support capabilities.
  • Develop AI/ML solutions including CoPilot integration, GenAI with OpenAI, AI-powered SAP ECC Search, document information extraction, anomaly detection, equipment readiness forecasting, maintenance and breakdown forecasting, fleet management service automation, and supply forecasting.
  • Develop real-time predictive models for parts availability, personnel allocation, equipment readiness, fleet management, and shop stock requirements.
  • Incorporate adaptive learning techniques using historical and live data to continuously refine model outputs.
  • Develop AI-powered workflow automation tools to streamline sustainment processes.
  • Develop recommendation engines to optimize repair actions, logistics strategies, and resource allocation.
  • Enhance dashboards and applications with GenAI-driven insights for on-the-fly analysis, trend predictions, and natural-language information retrieval.
  • Develop AI-enabled risk assessment models to predict supply-chain disruptions and identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks through anomaly detection.
  • Develop an audit framework for monitoring model performance, detecting bias, and ensuring compliance with Army data-governance standards.
  • Develop AI-powered training and assistance modules, including virtual assistants to support personnel learning and analytics adoption.
  • Develop autonomous decision-making and automation tools for fleet management, maintenance scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Develop predictive capabilities for equipment readiness and sustainment drivers.
  • Support automated reordering and replenishment of critical parts and LIN-based items using predictive analytics.
  • Support delivery of fully functional applications, dashboards, and BI reports with AI functionality and Azure architectural support.
  • Support review and validation of dashboards and BI reports with data SMEs and capability developers before production deployment.
  • Provide sustainment support for dashboards and BI reports as needed.

Summary

The Data Scientist IV supports the development and implementation of advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) capabilities. The Data Scientist develops predictive models, AI-powered automation solutions, recommendation engines, and GenAI-enabled capabilities to support customer facilities sustainment operations, data-driven decision-making, predictive analytics, process optimization, and operational insights.

Requirements

  • Candidate education information must include the highest degree earned, field of study, and institution.
  • Active Secret security clearance is required for this position.
