Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Data Scientist in Morton, IL to drive data-driven solutions for aftermarket parts inventory using Power BI, Python, Dataiku, and SAS. You will contribute across analytics, modeling, and reporting while enabling business insight.

This on-site, first-shift role requires up to 10% travel and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory and processes.

Qualifications

Knowledge of statistical tools and practices for describing business results.
Ability to elicit, analyze and record required functionality.

Responsibilities

Own, maintain, and improve production processes and analytics for parts inventory planning.
Monitor and optimize production programs for efficiency and reliability.
Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
Support data architecture maintenance and continuous improvement.
Conduct inventory analysis and provide actionable insights.
Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from stakeholders.
Develop reporting and decision-support tools.
Perform simulations, predictive modeling, and analytics projects.
Evaluate opportunities to leverage emerging technologies including generative AI.
