Amazon is seeking a Data Scientist III within SCOT Inbound Planning Science to develop models optimizing inventory placement and product flows across networks. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience with statistical models (e.g., multinomial logistic regression).
  • Experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Experience with data scripting languages (SQL, Python, R) or statistical/mathematical software (R, SAS, MATLAB).
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Quicksight).
  • Experience managing data pipelines and leading data science teams.

Overview

Data Scientist III, Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) – Inbound Planning Science at Amazon. The role focuses on developing scientific solutions to optimize inbound fulfillment strategy across networks and regions to maximize customer experience while minimizing cost to serve and carbon footprint. You will collaborate with the scientific community, technical teams, and business stakeholders to design and implement optimization tools for network flow planning and execution systems, and to influence strategy with data-driven insights.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mathematical models to optimize inventory placement and product flows.
  • Design and develop statistical and optimization models for planning supply chain under uncertainty.
  • Manage several high‑impact projects simultaneously.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Quicksight, or similar).
  • Experience managing data pipelines and leading data science teams.
Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
