Job summary

HDR is seeking a Data Scientist I to join our Phoenix team, handling sensitive data and collaborating with stakeholders to improve business decisions through data patterns and trends. You will develop data products, reports, visualizations, and dashboards while following data science standards.

Responsibilities include data acquisition, cleaning, EDA, feature engineering, AutoML model evaluation, and applying predictive insights to drive business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Power Query, and Pandas.
  • Proficiency with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, and Matplotlib.
  • Proficiency with Python and R.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong math and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work with multiple managers in a fast-paced environment.

In the role of Data Scientist I, we'll count on you to:

  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor's degree

  • A degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional, ability to multitask a must
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
  • Proficiency with data engineering tools and languages such as SQL, Power Query, and Pandas
  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn, and Matplotlib
  • Proficiency with data science languages such as Python and R
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent writing and people skills
  • Strong math and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and various managers in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
