Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Data Scientist to design, build, and extract large datasets, applying statistics, ML, and data engineering concepts. You will mine data from enterprise sources using Python, R, and SQL, and collaborate with the Business Analytics & Data Science Director on cross-functional projects.

You will communicate complex results to stakeholders, manage multiple projects, and help identify opportunities to improve costs, revenue, and outcomes within a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Trained in Data Science methods such as applied statistics, data engineering, and machine learning techniques.
• Trained in Data Science programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor message to individuals and audiences throughout the institution.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to focus detailed concentrated effort to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary.
• Initiative and ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment.
• Strong in desktop applications, including MS Office and database management applications.
• Accepts and benefits from direction and constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and extracts large and complex data sets.
• Documents and shares thought processes, code, and conclusions.
• Performs data mining, statistical analysis, processing, cleaning, verifying data, and modeling/prediction.
• Leverages programming languages to mine and analyze data from enterprise sources.
• Participates in Data Science projects for Business Analytics & Data Science Director.
• Communicates complex data or algorithms into simple conclusions that drive business actions.
• Identifies market opportunities and forecasts market behavior.
• Collaborates with departments to refine data-driven features.
