Job summary

The Texas Workforce Commission in Austin is seeking a Data Scientist I to lead data projects focused on program integrity and fraud prevention in Unemployment Insurance and CCEL. You will design and deploy predictive models, extract insights, and support investigations across sensitive data while upholding security and confidentiality.

You will collaborate with the UIPIC team, mentor teammates, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience in data science, predictive modeling, and algorithms.
• Experience deploying ML models in production.
• Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and manage predictive models to detect fraud and protect program integrity.
• Collaborate with UI investigations and external partners on data analysis.
• Create compelling visualizations and robust data pipelines while ensuring security.
• Prepare concise technical reports and present findings to leadership.
