Job summary

North is looking for a data scientist to join the Commitments team in New York. You’ll own the analysis behind coverage targets and purchase recommendations, building on usage forecasts to help customers save money and inform North’s decisions.

You’ll work closely with engineers and product teams to quantify risk and savings, turn insights into concrete recommendations, and define how we measure success. This hybrid role is based in NYC with some in-office days and US remote options.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a data scientist, influencing product/business decisions.
• Strong foundation in statistics, turning forecasts into actionable decisions.
• Fluency in Python and SQL, comfortable with large, messy usage/billing datasets.

Responsibilities

• Analyze how usage forecasts translate into coverage targets and buy recommendations.
• Quantify risk and expected savings for each recommendation.
• Analyze commitment performance across customers to identify where the approach works or needs adjustment.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement findings and measure impact.
• Define how to measure recommendation quality and report in business terms.
• Explain methods and results clearly to engineers, product, and customer-facing teams.
