Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Data Scientist for the Experimental Projects team to test new product opportunities. You will help identify problems, build early solutions, and test hypotheses with rapidly iterated experiments.

You will partner with product managers, engineers, and designers, using a mix of analytical methods including statistical modeling, ML, and causal inference to inform product decisions. Hybrid in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years in data science or quantitative modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL and a computing language such as Python or R.
• Experience with distributed tools like Spark or Hadoop.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver impactful results.

Responsibilities

• Use data to identify, evaluate, and shape new product opportunities.
• Partner with engineers and product managers to build and test early product concepts.
• Develop analyses, models, experiments, and prototypes to help the team learn quickly.
• Talk with users and combine qualitative insights with quantitative evidence.
• Define success measures for new ideas and assess early results.
• Communicate findings clearly, including uncertainty, tradeoffs, and recommended next steps.
