Ports North is seeking a Data Scientist to partner with business stakeholders and develop data-driven solutions that address complex business challenges. This role blends hands-on model development with strong business acumen to translate needs into analytics, predictive models, and actionable recommendations.

You will collaborate across teams to build personalized recommendations, forecasting, and optimization solutions, while deploying models and monitoring their performance.

Qualifications

• Translate business challenges into analytics requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and data-driven recommendations.
• Experience building predictive models: collaborative filtering, personalization, uplift, forecasting, optimization.
• Hands-on with Python, SQL, Spark, Databricks, ADLS, and SQL data warehouses.
• Ability to explain past projects, problems addressed, and outcomes clearly.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to identify business challenges and develop data science solutions.
• Translate business requirements into analytical frameworks and predictive models.
• Build, test, validate, and optimize machine learning and statistical models.
• Deliver insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop personalization, recommendation, forecasting, and optimization solutions.
• Support model deployment and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Spend approximately 70% of time on analytics and business partnering and 30% on model development, testing, and refinement.
