Job summary

cBEYONData + SMX is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team supporting a Federal customer. You will bridge business needs and technical solutions, focusing on requirements analysis, business process improvement, and data-driven decision-making to support IT transformation and modernization activities.

You will lead and mentor Jr. developers, design Palantir Foundry-based capabilities, and build data models and reports from ERP and legacy systems, while collaborating across functions to deliver

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret security clearance required.
• Onsite work 2 days per week at Taylor Building, Crystal City.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10 years of related work experience.
• Strong analytics, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience leading Jr. developers to deliver multiple projects.
• ≥5 years hands-on development in Python and PySpark.
• 3 years experience with Palantir Foundry.
• Experience with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab.
• Knowledge of DoD requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and participate in discussions.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS/Azure).
• Proficiency with software engineering tools (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently and document code.

cBEYONData + SMX is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in support of a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. The focus of this role is to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, focusing on requirements analysis, business process improvement, and data-driven decision-making to support the program's IT transformation and modernization activities. • Lead and mentor a team of Jr. developers to develop and deliver capabilities as required by the client.
• Design new solutions using Palantir Foundry to deliver capabilities meeting business functional requirements.
• Analyze & Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
• Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions are functioning as designed.
• Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.

Required Skills/Experience

• Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance are required
• Ability to work 2 days per week onsite at the Taylor Building in Crystal City
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience: 10 years of related work experience
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Prior experience leading a team of Jr. developers to deliver software capabilities on 2 or more projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on development experience and proficiency in Python and Pyspark.
  • Three years of experience with Palantir Foundry
  • Experience with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab.
  • Army functional knowledge and proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, and participate in discussions
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture: commercial cloud vendors (AWS/Azure)
  • Competence with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks without any supervision.
  • Proven experience in knowledge sharing (i.e., code reviews, solid documentation)

  • Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference

Desired Skills/Experience

• Experience implementing RESTful APIs
