Summary Of Position

As a Data Scientist, you will work directly with clients, managers, and technical staff to understand business needs, develop technical plans, and deliver data-driven analytical solutions that solve client problems. You will primarily create and deploy predictive models from a wide variety of data sources and types using the latest mathematical and statistical methods.

Essential Functions

  • Perform data science capabilities using analytic environments such as Databricks and open-source analytic code such as R, Python, and SQL.
  • Deploy products (e.g., dashboards, workflows, decision support algorithms, etc.) for operational use on data platforms like Advana.
  • Create prototypes/proof of concept demonstrations utilizing rapid development of new data pipelines.
  • Deploy validated models into production to support the development of decision support tools, dashboards, and workflows.
  • Perform statistical learning and pattern recognition through unsupervised, supervised, and reinforcement learning methods.
  • Leverage deep learning techniques/technologies such as neural networks/Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) to create large-language models (LLMs).
Job Specifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or closely related IT field.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience working with Python.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with R.
  • AWS Experience.
  • JavaScript familiarity.
  • Willingness to learn.
Desired Skills

  • Experience with Advana is a plus.
  • Experience with CDAO is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the mission space and Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (O) is a plus.
