MANTECH International Corporation invites a Data Scientist to join our Springfield, VA team. This full-time onsite position focuses on turning business needs into data-driven solutions, delivering predictive models from diverse data sources using advanced statistical methods.

You will work with clients, managers, and technical staff to translate requirements into actionable plans, develop models, and deploy them to address critical national security and DoD/ Federal civilian challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a data/CS/math-related field.
• 3+ years professional experience in data extraction, ingestion, modeling.
• Experience with Python and writing advanced SQL queries.
• Knowledge of model evaluation approaches and improving deployed models.
• Ability to translate business rules with SMEs into technical specs.

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Springfield, VA. This is a full-time onsite position.

The Data Scientist shall work directly with clients, managers and technical staff to understand business needs, develop technical plans, and deliver data-driven analytical solutions that solve client problems. The position is responsible for creating and deploying predictive models from a wide variety of data sources and types using the latest mathematical and statistical methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Data Management, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or bachelor’s degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.
• 3+ years of professional experience that includes data extraction, ingestion, and modeling.
• Experience with Python and with writing advanced SQL queries
• Knowledge of model evaluation approaches including techniques for improving initial model development and deployed models
• Ability to work with Subject Matter Experts to understand business rules and translate them to technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with behavioral analytics
• Experience with Oracle Apex
• Experience with fine-tuning BERT-style modeling for downstream NLP tasks
• Experience with large language models
• Familiarity with developing GPU enabled AI/ML solutions
• Experience using Git-based version-control, such as Github/Gitlab
• Familiarity with building CI/CD pipelines.
• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to teammates and clients.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing imagery analysis and reporting.
• Must be able to occasionally move about the work area to collaborate with team members and access mission systems.

The projected compensation range for this position is $91,600.00-$153,800.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
