About you and this role

About the Analytics & AI Hub (AAIH) enables Dow’s growth via AI- and analytics-powered delivery and innovation in the Enterprise Data & Analytics Organization. Our mission is to harness the power of AI, advanced analytics, and business intelligence to drive growth, optimize costs and outperform the competition.

Within AAIH, the Analytics & AI team uncovers hidden insights and forecasts future outcomes with actionable recommendations—empowering partners across the enterprise through a range of solution offerings. We aim to enable smarter, faster decision-making at every level of the organization.

We are seeking a skilled data scientist to extract knowledge and insights from high-volume, high-dimensional data to investigate complex business problems. You will lead initiatives that leverage knowledge graphs and graph databases to address multifaceted challenges across the enterprise. This role also includes applying advanced statistical analysis, algorithms, predictive modeling, experimentation, and pattern recognition to create solutions that enhance business performance.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments, guiding teams through advanced data modeling, semantic reasoning, and a broad range of data science tools to deliver impactful solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of end-to-end data science analytics solutions using technologies such as Databricks, Microsoft Azure services, and Neo4j
  • Guide and execute data preprocessing, harmonization, and feature engineering to prepare modeling datasets
  • Research and apply emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions
  • Develop and validate machine learning, deep learning, and Generative AI solutions; selecting the least complex approach that meets business needs
  • Deploy and maintain scalable analytics solutions
  • Lead stakeholder conversations to translate business needs into data-driven recommendations
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the development of best practices across analytics and AI domains
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, or a related quantitative field, or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant. Masters degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • Stakeholder Management: Skill in engaging with cross-functional teams and business partners to understand needs, communicate insights, and drive alignment on data-driven strategies
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to connect analytics work to broader business goals, anticipate future challenges, and guide teams toward impactful, long-term solutions

  • Generative AI: Experience applying models that generate text, code, or other content using techniques such as large language models (LLMs)
  • Graph Databases: Familiarity with graph-based data structures and platforms (e.g., Neo4j) to model relationships and uncover insights through semantic reasoning
  • Machine Learning: Ability to build, train, and evaluate predictive models using supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Machine Learning Operations (MLOps): Knowledge of tools and practices for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining machine learning models in production environments

  • Optimization Methods: Understanding of mathematical techniques to improve decision-making, resource allocation, or system performance

  • Time Series Analysis: Ability to analyze and model data indexed over time to identify trends, seasonality, and forecast future values
  • Data Visualization: Skill in creating clear and compelling visual representations of data to support storytelling and decision-making
  • Analytics-Ready Data Engineering: Designs and maintains robust data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store clean, enriched data structures optimized for analytics and decision-making.
