Job summary

Structure Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotech, is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join the Biometrics and Data Management group in California. You will advance the data platform, build scalable data science tools for clinical research, and collaborate with physicians, biostatisticians, and data engineers to accelerate decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of Data Science experience with a Bachelor’s, 8 years with a Master’s, or 4 years with a Ph.D., including at least 3 years of hands-on experience developing production-grade software in Python or R.
• Demonstrated understanding of software architecture, performance optimization and validation.
• Strong expertise in Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
• Familiar with data visualization tools such as ggplot2, Plotly, Matplotlib or Seaborn.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Github.

• Enhance the existing platforms by contributing to the development, validation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Develop and validate data science tools for clinical research and trial optimization.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist with strong software engineering skills to join the Biometrics and Data Management group. This role will focus on advancing the current platform and developing novel and scalable data science tools to support evolving business needs. As a key contributor in a multidisciplinary environment, you will work closely with clinical scientists, biostatisticians, data managers, statistical programmers, and other stakeholders to design, implement and deploy robust data-driven solutions that accelerate decision-making and improve patient outcomes. In addition to modeling and analytics work, you will contribute to building production-grade tools and frameworks that extend the capabilities of the current internal platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrated understanding of software architecture, performance optimization and validation.
• Strong expertise in Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
• Familiar with data visualization tools such as ggplot2. Plotly, Matplotlib or Seaborn.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experienced with Github.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud-computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
• Experience with creating Large Language Models (LLMs) and GenAI based solution in production environment.
• Experienced in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $148K-$182K. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.

At Structure, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
