Qualifications

• 7+ years in enterprise data analytics, data engineering and ETL design.

• 6+ years Python/PySpark/Scala.
• 3+ years with Azure OpenAI or Generative AI data integration is desirable.

Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist / Data Analyst to design, develop, manage, and optimize enterprise data pipelines, data warehouses, and advanced analytics solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, advanced SQL/PL-SQL, and Python-based data processing. The role will also involve integrating AI and machine learning capabilities to transform complex data into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, and PL/SQL.
• Manage and optimize Azure Synapse Analytics SQL and Spark pools and Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse.
• Develop, test, and optimize complex SQL/PL-SQL scripts, stored procedures, packages, and functions.
• Perform data modeling, performance tuning, and cloud cost optimization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define analytical requirements and develop Power BI-ready datasets.
• Integrate AI and machine learning solutions using Azure Machine Learning and Azure OpenAI Service.
• Implement data governance, quality, and security standards using Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Develop enterprise dashboards, reporting solutions, and predictive analytics models.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience in enterprise data analytics, data engineering, and complex ETL workflow design.
• 4+ years of experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and cloud data warehousing.
• 7+ years of advanced SQL and PL/SQL experience, including query optimization, performance tuning, and indexing.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, or Scala.
• 4+ years of experience in Azure data modeling, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, and cloud security.
• 3+ years of experience with Power BI semantic models and dataflows.
• 3+ years of experience with Azure OpenAI or Generative AI data integration is highly desired.
• 3+ years of experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• This is an onsite position in Raleigh, North Carolina.
• In-person interview is mandatory.
• Candidates must have strong hands-on Azure data engineering and analytics experience.
