Job summary

Bespoke Technologies, Inc. in McLean is seeking a Data Scientist with active Poly clearance to lead NLP projects and develop text analytics capabilities. You will select libraries, build models, and evaluate performance across datasets, communicating results to leadership.

The role requires strong Python NLP experience, DL frameworks, HuggingFace tooling, and SQL proficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for delivering actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience performing NLP tasks and selecting Python libraries for analysis.
• Experience using Python NLP packages (SpaCy, Gensim, NLTK) to analyze document collections.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras for NLP/deep learning.
• Proficient with HuggingFace transformers and model hub usage.
• Experience creating ML models for text classification and topic modeling in Python (scikit-learn or DL).
• Experience with encoder–decoder and generative language models for NLP tasks.
• Ability to explain methodological choices and model results clearly to stakeholders.
• Proficient in SQL including CTEs, sets, aggregates, and nested subqueries.
• Experience with version control (GitHub) and CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Experience leveraging GPUs for accelerated computing.
• Develop practical performance measurement approaches.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and presenting findings to senior leadership.
• Advanced statistical analysis on personnel, intelligence, and performance metrics.
• Assist in selecting/developing methodologies for research.
• Analyze information and present findings clearly to customers.

Responsibilities

Required Skills

• Demonstrated professional or academic experience performing NLP tasks, including selecting the best Python libraries for a given task, choosing appropriate pre-processing actions, performing analysis, and assessing model performance.
• Demonstrated professional or academic experience using Python NLP packages such as Spacy, Gensim, or NLTK to analyze or process collections of documents.
• Demonstrated professional or academic experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, or Keras
• Demonstrated professional or academic experience with the HuggingFace Transformers library and hub.
• Demonstrated experience creating machine learning models that conduct text classification and topic modeling in Python using standard machine learning (Scikit-learn) or deep learning models.

• Analyze information and provide research findings in a manner that is easily grasped by the customer and consumers.
