Job description

Summary

As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in transforming raw, complex data into actionable intelligence. You will bridge the gap between qualitative mission goals and quantitative software solutions, working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to extract insights from diverse data formats. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who enjoys developing scripts, implementing machine learning techniques, and creating data visualizations that reveal the underlying meaning of large‑scale datasets.

Position Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques to create descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
  • Develop statistical tests to make data‑driven recommendations and decisions
  • Produce data visualizations that provide insight into dataset structure and meaning
  • Incorporate SME input into feature vectors suitable for analytic development and testing
  • Translate qualitative analysis processes and goals into quantitative formulations coded into software prototypes
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify important information in raw data and develop scripts that extract this from various formats (e.g., SQL tables, structured metadata, network logs)
Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or computer science)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics, plus one (1) year of experience programming with data analysis software such as R, Python, SAS, or MATLAB
  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Experience in software or cloud development
  • Experience developing descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
