• The Data Scientist explores operational and financial data, frames hypotheses, and tests them.
• This role builds predictive models for delays and durations, congestion, cost, and plan-versus-actual variance, while engineering features over the curated data layers and documenting their meaning and provenance.
• Responsibilities include building point-in-time training sets that reflect what was known at the time of the event and preparing the inputs behind KPI dashboards, trend analysis, and executive reporting.
• The role also aligns metric and calculation definitions with the semantic layer so figures agree across reports, APIs, and interfaces, validates results with business stakeholders, and produces model documentation.
