Job summary

Barone Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Data Scientist with Python expertise and a GEOINT/INTEL background to support national security analytics. You will apply advanced analytics to modernize workflows, develop new methodologies, and translate complex data into actionable insights for mission teams and decision-makers.

Responsibilities include building automated workflows, integrating diverse datasets, and creating interactive visualizations and dashboards with modern tools.

Qualifications

• Must have Python proficiency with experience building mission-ready solutions.
• Experience handling large datasets and integrating diverse data sources.
• Experience with GitLab or GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Ability to write clear technical documentation for software systems and automated workflows.
• Must have prior IC experience and familiarity with US military structures in intelligence roles.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph (sponsorship available).
• 10+ years of related experience; 7+ years with a BS; 6 years with AA and 4 certs; multiple paths acceptable.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist with Python expertise and a GEOINT or INTEL backgroundto support real world national security problems. In this role, you will apply advanced analytics and data science to help modernize analytic workflows, introduce new analytic methodologies, and turn complex data into actionable insights for mission teams and decision-makers. You will support the development of clear visualizations to uncover patterns and trends, build solutions to extract actionable insights, and effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Create data science solutions and automated workflows
• Query and integrate web APIs through Python to retrieve, normalize, and operationalize data.
• Analyze and integrate complex datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and consistency throughout.
• Develop interactive data visualizations using Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, or comparable tools.
• Build dashboards and analytic interfaces using Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar tools.

Required Must-Have Skills:

• Must have proficiency in Python with demonstrated experience in designing mission ready solutions.
• Experience with large datasets
• Experience using Git-based version control platforms such as GitLab or GitHub.
• Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation related to software systems and automated workflows.
• Must have prior experience with theIC orbroader U.S. military organizational structures in arole that supported an intelligene mission
• Familiarity with common Intelligence Community (IC) data repositories.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph (we can sponsor your poly if you don't already have one, but you must have an active TS/SCI)
• 10 years of related experience (can be met through a combination of experience, education, and certifications/training - everything will be considered, a few examples are below).
• 7 years of relevant experience and a BS degree is an acceptable equivalent
• 6 years of relevant experience, an AA degree, and 4 professional relevant certifications is an acceptable equivalent.
• If you have an Associates, a Bachelors, and a Masters - you'd only need 3 years or relevant experience.

Bonus Skills:

• Prior experience working with FADE tools (MIST, INTELBOOK, LINX, WATCH BOX) to discover and refine analytical insights.
• Proficiency with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) statistical tools such as MapLarge, Tableau, MATLAB, JEMA or Brewlytics
• Proficiency with geospatial processing frameworks such as GDAL or ArcPy.
• Proficiency with GIS desktop software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
• SQL skills and experience querying relational databases.
