Job summary

Gravity IT Resources seeks a senior Data Scientist to shape AI capabilities in Cincinnati, with acceptance for remote consideration if a perfect fit. You will lead Gen AI initiatives, develop scalable models, and drive projects from research to production.

Responsibilities include building end-to-end data science solutions, partnering with product teams to define vision and roadmaps, and mentoring peers while communicating findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applied data science experience, with demonstrated progression in scope and technical complexity.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI applications, including one or more of: LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, or agentic workflows
• Familiarity with causal ML and/or causal inference methods (e.g., CATE, heterogeneous treatment effect modeling, DiD, matching)
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Git
• Experience with cloud-based data science platforms such as Azure and Databricks or comparable tools
• Experience contributing to production-quality ML systems using software engineering best practices
• Ability to partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into science solutions and roadmaps
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business audiences
• Comfort operating in evolving problem spaces and contributing to early-stage vision and strategy

Job Title: Data Scientist

Location Requirements: Onsite in Cincinnati, with possible consideration for Chicago or remote if a perfect fit; candidate must be willing to relocate within the first three months and travel occasionally to Cincinnati

Job Type: Contract

Role Overview: You will help shape our AI and science capabilities. You’ll develop scalable science solutions, lead projects from research to production, and collaborate with product teams to drive strategy. The role requires strong technical skills, especially in Gen AI and causal ML, in a senior individual contributor capacity.

Responsibilities:

• Advance AI capabilities by designing, developing, and deploying Gen AI solutions, including LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and integration into existing workflows
• Lead end-to-end development and scaling of data science solutions, from research through production
• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to shape vision, roadmap, and prioritization
• Contribute to a holistic science framework, connecting and consolidating scattered capabilities
• Apply and extend causal ML and econometric methods such as CATE, DiD, matching, and panel methods for measurement, experimentation, and personalization
• Build and improve production ML and experimentation pipelines using MLOps and software engineering practices, including CI/CD, version control, testing, and documentation
• Research emerging AI/ML technologies and identify opportunities for innovation
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor, providing guidance to peers
• Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership
