Job summary

Spectrum in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Data Scientist to design, develop and maintain data analytics and visualizations for audit programs. You will extract data from Teradata, SQL and Oracle, clean data, validate results, and deliver dashboards for stakeholders.

The role requires strong SQL, data warehousing and visualization skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with audit teams, manage multiple priorities, and work in a hybrid office setting.

  • Advanced SQL development and optimization background
  • Knowledge of data visualization and presentation methods for data analysis and interpretation, including performance of dashboards, generating, managing and delivering presentations and reports capable of yielding insights and actionable results
  • Ability to understand business processes to ensure data and information integrity when importing from source systems.
  • Ability to present analysis to our audit teams clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop analytic solutions to support our audit plan, including but not limited to: understand source data and business process
  • Independently write code to extract data from various sources (Teradata, SQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Develop code to manipulate and clean data as needed based on requirements gathered in conjunction with the Manager, Data Science
  • Design and execute data validations and quality checks to ensure complete and accurate populations
  • Design and build visualization solutions with our end users in mind to drive efficiency and effective anomaly identification
  • Refreshing and optimizing existing analytics based on internal and external feedback
  • Identify risks and identify to management appropriately
  • Participate in discussions and interface with various departments to research, define, and document requirements
  • Proactively seek clarification of requirements and direction; takes responsibility when needed
  • Executes special projects as needed and performs other duties as requested

Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

The Data Scientist plays a key role in our data driven audits and is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of data analysis and visualizations to support the audit plan, including requirements gathering, data validation, analysis execution and results reporting using visualization tools. The position requires regular communication with the audit team to define requirements and present deliverables.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Design and develop analytic solutions to support our audit plan, including but not limited to:

  • Understanding the source data and business process
  • Independently write code to extract data from various sources (Teradata, SQL, Oracle, etc.)
