Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a data scientist to unlock insights from large data sets across sectors including intelligence, fraud detection, and healthcare. You will translate client questions into analytical plans, combine structured and unstructured data, and build algorithms that turn data into actionable answers.

You'll work with Python or R, apply ML/AI/NLP techniques, deploy models, and communicate findings to clients. A TS/SCI clearance is required; a STEM degree is preferred.

You Have:

• Experience with common scripting languages, such as Python or R

• Experience with object-oriented programming

• Knowledge of data processing frameworks such as Pandas, Polars, or Spark

• Knowledge of statistical or machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, pytorch, tensorflow, or R

• Knowledge of structured and unstructured data sources

• Knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing

• Ability to develop predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources

• Ability to deploy natural language processing, text mining, or machine learning techniques

• TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field

Nice If You Have:

• Experience in the development of algorithms leveraging R, Python, or SQL and NoSQL

• Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL

• Experience working with LLMs, generative AI systems, or agentic frameworks

• Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
