Job summary

US Bureau of the Fiscal Service seeks a Data Scientist in the Data Management and Analytics Division to independently develop research studies, analyses, and projects impacting BFS programs and policies, including cross-agency work. You will work on advanced statistical and ML techniques, design data models, and present findings to executives.

The role requires translating complex results into clear visuals and briefings for nontechnical stakeholders and partners across government.

Job description

This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Data Management and Analytics Division. As a Data Scientist, you will independently develop research studies, analyses, and projects that affect the programs and policies of the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) and other government agencies, both in its immediate context as well as in the context of future needs and risks. ..

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
