Job summary

CypSec Group is seeking a senior researcher to lead security-focused data science initiatives within its European threat intelligence operations. The role emphasizes adversarial machine learning, threat detection, and high-impact analytics across critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated excellence in adversarial ML, security analytics, or threat intelligence research.
  • Proven track record in publications, CVEs, or security-focused projects.
  • Experience with privacy-preserving analytics and EU data protection concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Architect machine learning systems for advanced persistent threat detection across European critical infrastructure.
  • Develop statistical models supporting real-time security incident response and attribution analysis.
  • Implement privacy-preserving analytics compliant with EU data sovereignty requirements and classified handling procedures.
  • Ensure operational compliance with GDPR Article 9, NIS2 Directive, and emerging EU AI Act security provisions.
  • Produce intelligence-grade analytical products suitable for supervisory authority and CERT coordination.

Position Authority

Vacancy issued under CypSec Group European threat intelligence operations. This senior research role requires demonstrated excellence in security-focused data science beyond conventional commercial analytics. Only candidates with exceptional achievements in adversarial machine learning, threat detection systems, or intelligence analysis will be considered for advancement through our rigorous selection process.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Architect machine learning systems for advanced persistent threat detection across European critical infrastructure
  • Develop statistical models supporting real-time security incident response and attribution analysis
  • Implement privacy-preserving analytics compliant with EU data sovereignty requirements and classified handling procedures
  • Ensure operational compliance with GDPR Article 9, NIS2 Directive, and emerging EU AI Act security provisions
  • Produce intelligence-grade analytical products suitable for supervisory authority and CERT coordination
Mandatory Technical Excellence
  • Expert-level Python/R with proven security application development
  • Adversarial ML, anomaly detection, and threat hunting algorithm development
  • Bayesian inference, time-series analysis, and network behavior analytics
  • Spark/Hadoop processing of classified security telemetry datasets
  • Production of intelligence briefings and threat landscape assessments for executive stakeholders
Exceptional Candidate Requirements

Beyond baseline qualifications, successful candidates will demonstrate at least one of the following:

  • Peer-reviewed publications in adversarial machine learning, security analytics, or threat intelligence
  • Documented CVE assignments or vulnerability research utilizing statistical analysis techniques
  • Development of open-source security analytics tools with demonstrated community adoption
  • Participation in EU-funded research initiatives (Horizon Europe, ECCC, or ENISA frameworks)
  • Competition rankings in data science challenges with security focus (Kaggle, DrivenData, etc.)
Advanced Research Focus Areas
  • Behavioral analytics for insider threat detection across enterprise environments
  • Cryptographic data analysis supporting post-quantum security research initiatives
  • Cross-domain correlation of threat indicators across European infrastructure sectors
  • Privacy-preserving federated learning for collaborative threat detection
Linguistic Proficiency Standards
  • CEFR C1+ English capability for technical documentation and stakeholder communication
  • CEFR C1+ working proficiency in German, Russian, Chinese, or Spanish
  • Ability to produce specifications meeting government and regulatory review standards
Security Assessment Protocol
  • Comprehensive background verification including employment history validation
  • Enhanced screening procedures for access to sensitive technical information
  • EU citizenship or permanent residency required for sensitive infrastructure access
  • Willingness to undergo facility clearance processing where operational requirements dictate
