Job summary

Bayer AG is seeking a Data Science Platform Evangelist to bridge platform engineering and the data science community within Global Data Assets & Analytics. You will empower internal data scientists to build, deploy, and operationalize solutions through education, advocacy, and hands-on guidance.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse audiences.
• Experience with data science platforms and MLOps practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with data science community members to implement best practices and align solutions with platform vision and roadmap.
• Develop, contribute, and maintain tools that simplify platform operations and enhance developer productivity.
• Create comprehensive educational content including technical documentation, tutorials, and training materials for diverse audiences.
• Provide technical support to data scientists through documentation, communication platforms, and direct engagement.
• Gather, synthesize, and communicate developer feedback to engineering teams, advocating for community needs and platform improvements.
• Foster and grow an engaged data science community through relationship building with key influencers and community leaders.
• Organize and facilitate community events such as hackathons, workshops, and meetups to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and offer guidance on best practices for modeling and operationalizing solutions.
• Act as an evangelist for platforms, technologies, and data products, showcasing their value through various channels and events.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and product managers to optimize utilization of shared tools.
• Participate in internal workshops and events to promote organizational offerings and inspire innovative solution development.
• Translate complex technical concepts into accessible content for stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Advocate for developer needs with product and engineering teams to help shape future platform direction.
