Job summary

Rocket Companies, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Data Science to lead and mentor a team of data scientists, shaping the Data Science organization’s strategy and impact.

You will partner with leaders across the company and work with the VP of Data Science to evolve practices, strategy, and outcomes. You will apply stats, ML, and NLP to solve business problems, translate processes into tractable data science tasks, and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a related field.
• 2 years of experience in management and administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or a related field.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in SQL, noSQL and ElasticSearch.
• Knowledge of Statistics, NLP, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists on performance, growth, production, and day-to-day responsibilities.
• Partner across business and technology organizations to align on priorities, influence strategy, and execute against a shared vision.
• Query, analyze, and summarize large and complex datasets to drive business strategy and decision-making.
• Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques to solve business problems.
• Support the development and scaling of internal and user-facing data products.
• Work with team members and stakeholders to translate business processes and challenges tractable data science problems.
• Monitor the performance of implemented solutions and conduct recurring evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Generate simulations, experiments, and what-if analyses to support strategic decision-making.
• Pull and create reports necessary to support the team and senior leadership in tracking strategic goals and outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into actionable insights.
• Help shape and evolve best practices, standards, and processes across the Data Science organization.
• Communicate and embody the culture and mission of the company.
