Capital One, a leading data-driven financial services company, is seeking a Manager, Data Scientist for US Card Upmarket Acquisitions. The role partners with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to build end-to-end ML solutions that improve underwriting decisions across large customer datasets.

You will own model development, deployment, monitoring, and governance, while mentoring teammates and translating insights into business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field plus 6 years of analytics experience or Master’s with 4 years, or PhD with 1 year.
• At least 1 year of experience leveraging open source languages for large-scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience utilizing relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver ML-powered underwriting products.
• Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark to analyze large numeric and textual data.
• Build ML models through all development phases: design, training, evaluation, validation, deployment.
• Translate complex analytics into tangible business goals and communicate outcomes.
