TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC in Los Angeles seeks a Data Science Manager to lead a team of data professionals and deliver analytics at scale. You will guide product analytics to influence growth, understand metric drivers, and design advanced models that translate insights into measurable business outcomes.

The role requires leadership, deep analytical skills, and the ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an analytical role at a top-tier social media or entertainment company, including 2+ years as a people manager.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or related fields.
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R.
• Experience navigating and working with large data sets using SQL.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous learner, and highly organized.
• Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.

About the team
The Core Business Data Science team at TikTok USDS is responsible for building high-quality and timely data analytics solutions for the TikTok main app. The mission of our team is to achieve the following three major business objectives:

• Grow TikTok US users through analytics of user growth levers
• Identify growth opportunities for TikTok business initiatives in the US market
• Protect our users by enforcing user safety principles through data

Responsibilities

Data is at the core of decision making within TikTok. As a data science manager on the team, you will have the exciting opportunity to:

• Lead a team of Data Scientists or Data Analysts to execute company level objectives
• Conduct product analytics to provide recommendations that drive product growth and nurture a healthy ecosystem
• Understand root causes of metric movements
• Design and build advanced analytical solutions and models to deliver business outcomes

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full time experience working in an analytical role in a top tier social media or entertainment companies, including 2+ years as a people manager
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or other science and engineering fields
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R
• Experience navigating and working with large data sets using SQL
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, learn autonomously, and highly organized
• Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of technical concepts such as Machine Learning, Causal Inference, and AI
• Experience in Livestream products
• Experience working with international partners in different time zones
• Passion for social technology products and a curiosity to learn & grow with a fast paced company

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $190950 - $375516 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
