Job summary

TikTok is seeking PhD interns for our Monetization Products Data Science team in the United States. You will analyze large datasets, design end-to-end projects, and work with cross-functional teams to translate insights into business impact.

This 12-week, full-time internship (Summer 2027) offers exposure to A/B testing, advanced analytics, and a collaborative, globally distributed environment. Interns receive health and wellbeing benefits, paid holidays, and housing allowance where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex datasets to solve challenging business problems using a range of analytical methods.
• Design, analyze, and interpret projects end-to-end, from data requirement gathering and processing to modeling and developing actionable business recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities that leverage advanced analytical and modeling techniques.
• Design, execute, and interpret experiments, including A/B tests, to generate actionable insights.
• Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to team leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Analytics.
• Experience with data querying and manipulation using SQL, Python, or R.
• Experience performing data analysis using a scripting language such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time internship during Summer 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or research experience in data science.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong ability to learn quickly, work independently, and solve complex problems creatively.
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to translate analytical insights into business impact.

Job Information

For Pay Transparency Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $35- $55.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
