Job summary

MSA Safety is seeking a quantitative-focused student for a data analytics role headquartered near Cranberry Township. You will analyze large datasets, derive insights, and help build predictive models to inform business decisions.

Ideal candidates are pursuing BS or MS in a quantitative field with experience in data manipulation, statistics, and programming languages such as Python or R, plus familiarity with data visualization tools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform data analysis on large data sets to prepare and develop business decisions
• Provide insight into observed business outcomes through analytics
• Use math, statistics, and analytical techniques to develop predictive models
• Identify areas where advanced statistical techniques would be most useful

Experience:

• We’re looking for someone pursuing a BS or MS degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, computer science, data science, mathematics) with the following experience:

• Manipulating data sets and building statistical models
• Coding knowledge and experience with common programming languages (C++, Java, JavaScript, etc)
• Experience in statistical and data mining techniques (GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, etc)
• Experience querying datasets and using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.)
• Experience using web services (Redshift, S3, Glue, etc)
• Experience working with Data visualization tools (Power BI, QuickSight, etc.)
