Job summary

Valvoline Global Operations is seeking a Data Science & Analytics Intern to work hands-on on high-impact analytics projects. You will frame business questions, collect and clean data, and build models to address pricing, supply chain, or market insights.

You will design dashboards and present findings to leadership, gaining visibility into how data drives decisions at a global company. This paid, on-site summer internship enables collaboration across multiple teams and real-world impact.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
• Proficiency in Python or R and SQL; experience with data visualization.
• Solid foundation in statistics and machine learning concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Prior internship, coursework, or projects in data analytics a plus.

Responsibilities

• Scope and frame a real business problem in partnership with the Data Science & Analytics team, translating a business question into an analytical approach.
• Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple internal systems, ensuring quality and consistency before analysis.
• Build and test models or statistical approaches (e.g., forecasting, segmentation, predictive modeling).
• Design dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders clearly.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with pricing, commercial, supply chain, IT, and other teams to validate assumptions.
• Synthesize insights into actionable recommendations for the business problem.
• Present findings to Data & AI leadership and stakeholders.
