Expedia Group, Inc. is looking for a Data Science, Analytics Intern for the 2024 Global Summer Internship Program. This role offers the chance to work on business-critical projects and develop professional skills in an inclusive community.

You will be involved in statistical analysis, visualization practices, and collaboration with various partner teams. Candidates should be graduating with a technical degree between December 2024 and July 2025 and be prepared for full-time work.

Qualifications

• Graduating between December 2024 and July 2025.
• No more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.

What You’ll do

• Develop statistical, visualization & communication best practices and skills
• Identify partner teams' key problems, prototype solutions, and help solve business problems using statistical analysis and tools
• Provide ad‑hoc analysis and use visualization techniques to communicate insights and recommendations
• Leverage hypothesis testing to help drive key business solutions
• Gain a good understanding of our domain (e.g., travel, e‑commerce) & business goals and become a data specialist; partner with sales, product, data engineering teams to implement sustainable analytics solutions

Who You Are

• Must be available to commit to the full program dates (May 20th, 2024 – July 26th, 2024 OR June 24th, 2024 - August 30th, 2024)
• Must be graduating with an undergraduate or master’s degree in a technical subject (e.g., Math, Statistics, Data Science) between December 2024 and July 2025
• Must be willing to relocate to the city of job location if outside commuting distance
• Must commit to full‑time hours every week
• Must have no more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role
• Must be a critical thinker and show an inquisitive mind
• Helpful to have good analytics skills and be self‑motivated
• Helpful to have effective communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of partners (e.g., internal, external, technical, non‑technical people)
• Helpful to have skills in SQL, Tableau, R, Python as a bonus for data transformation and analysis
• Helpful to have familiarity with basic visualization principles such as labeling & titling and visualization tools such as Tableau or Excel

What We Offer

• Competitive compensation package including the benefits below and others:
• The total cash range for this position in Austin is $37-$45 per hour. The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $37-45 per hour. Pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location and degree level.
