Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Data Science Analyst II to provide professional data analysis, evaluation, and research across multiple data streams. You will extract insights from large datasets to inform business decisions and support department improvements.

You will forecast, mine data, and apply statistical methods while collaborating with staff to answer questions, develop models, and deliver actionable dashboards and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Data Management, Quantitative analysis, or a related field.
• Three years of performing data analysis.
• Requires CJIS clearance within the first 30 days of hire; no felonies.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior data roles is a plus.
• Experience with large datasets and data visualization.
• Knowledge of data management and analytics; GIS is a plus for geo-spatial integration.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of data streams to derive insights for business needs.
• Forecast, data mine, and perform statistical analysis to support decision making.
• Develop predictive models to improve customer experiences, revenue, and outcomes.
• Create and present sound reports and visualizations to management.
• Collaborate with staff to identify business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Document procedures and propose improvements to data analysis processes.
