Job summary

Select Search LLC is seeking a Data Science Analyst/Engineer to support a Federal Program in Springfield, VA. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and will involve metadata integration, data stores, and a MAP-driven search system.

You will work with the Data Engineering Team to enable data discovery across the Enterprise and Intelligence Community, focusing on metadata maintenance and system integration. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of data management, transformation, visualization, analysis, metadata standards, and organization techniques and tools.
• At least 5 years of experience with search tools, search results organization and the implications of metadata organization, indexing and catalog content.
• Bachelor's degree in systems Engineering or related STEM field, or 4 additional years of related data/systems engineering experience.
• MS Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot simple technology problems.
• Excel, PowerPoint, Notepad++ proficiency.
• Certifications: Security+, Network+, or A+ preferred; ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Data Engineer to build and maintain the MAP and assess metadata quality.
• Plan and coordinate metadata enhancement and remediation.
• Validate MAP accuracy via queries against data holdings using UI, API, Postgres and Elasticsearch.
• Create design documents for new Data Stores detailing metadata fields, service specs, and integration standards.
• Maintain relationships with government data stewards and Data Store owners.
• Investigate and resolve metadata discrepancies or mappings.
