Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Data Risk Manager to lead data risk governance and remediation efforts across the Risk Management organization. You will guide data management strategy, monitor data quality, and influence enterprise data policies while collaborating with multiple lines of business and stakeholders.

The role requires strong experience in data management, risk/compliance, and data analytics tools, with responsibilities spanning governance, reporting, and policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree or Military Experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in data management, data quality assurance or data warehousing.
• At least 3 years of experience in business systems analysis, audit or project management.
• 5+ years in data management, data quality or data warehousing.
• 2+ years in anti-money laundering, compliance, or risk management.
• 1+ year in reporting tools (Tableau, QuickSight).
• 1+ year in data inquiry and extraction (SQL, Python, Presto).

Data Risk Manager Data Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organization and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential data risks for the Company. This position will focus on Data Risk Management for Capital One's Risk Management organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with enterprise data standards and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility, including but not limited to.
• Providing data risk guidance both within and beyond the organization.
• Influencing data risk policies and procedures at the enterprise level.
• Developing and leveraging key relationships with line of business and enterprise data management stakeholders that enable successful completion of data management activities.
• Creating the strategy for the organization’s data management efforts to align to the expectations set in enterprise data policies.
• Monitoring and reporting the organization’s data management efforts, identifying gaps and remediation options, and escalating impediments to senior leadership with emphasis on the organizations largest and/or most complex data systems and usages.
• Designing and/or sharing data management processes, procedures, and tools.
• Designing and implementing local data governance processes and procedures.
• Change Management - Ensuring data management impacts are appropriately assessed, documented, and implemented by the organization.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree or Military Experience
• At least 3 years of experience in data management, data quality assurance or data warehousing
• At least 3 years of experience in business systems analysis, audit or project management

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data management, data quality assurance or data warehousing
• 5+ years of experience in business systems analysis, audit, project management
• 2+ years of experience in anti-money laundering, compliance, or risk management
• 1+ year of experience with reporting tools (Tableau, QuickSight)
• 1+ year of experience with data inquiry and extraction (SQL, Python, Presto)

Compensation

Minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.

• McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Risk Manager
• Plano, TX: $138,100 - $157,700 for Risk Manager
• Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Risk Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
